Dr Lucy Smith (Project Archivist, Magdalen College)

Dr Lucy Smith was appointed as the Wilson Project Archivist at Magdalen College in 2020. She has spent the last three years cataloguing the papers of T.E. Lawrence’s authorised biographer Jeremy Wilson. The collection consists of over one-hundred boxes of material and will soon be available on Magdalen College Archives’ online catalogue. She curated and wrote Lawrence in Fragments based on highlights and themes from Magdalen’s Lawrence collections. Lucy also regularly posts on a blog for the research portal Lawrence at Magdalen. She has a PhD in Victorian Literature and prior to this post worked on a cataloguing project at Gwent Archives on hospital history and the foundations of the NHS in south-east Wales.

George White (Senior Assistant Librarian, Magdalen College)

George joined Magdalen College in June 2023. As she is passionate about outreach and making collections accessible, she loved working on this exhibition and its companion website. For the Lawrence in Fragments exhibition, George helped to edit and design the online site. As part of this work, she made digitisations of the items featured in the exhibition and tweaked the captions to make them suitable for online publication.
